Dated : June 2020. Some of the shareable "lines" from my morning pages:
90% of your artwork will be terrible, 10% will be good .. I was listening to a podcast by Louise Fletcher - of the Art Juice Podcast . And in the podcast artist Lewis Noble said these words and it’s such a powerful analogy.
I have been working on a series HIDDEN LANDSCAPES … where I am trying to break the complications of the landscapes into easier fluid shapes … even exaggerated forms if I can say. Mountain scales have always been home to me but these days thinking , rethinking what I can achieve with a certain brushstroke, or the effect I can achieve with a certain colour has been attracting me , I am moving away from the direct representation of mountains to more symbolic strokes and rhythmic movements .
And in these landscapes I depict human involvement.Exploring the beauty of human interaction with nature.
Not the one where we harm nature but the one where we live in harmony , where a small campfire by a hill reminds us of the breeze on our faces , offbeat singing , eating barbecued food and watching the night pass by in stars. Do you feel it ?
