Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with liquid gold. As a philosophy , it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, to showcase it more beautifully, rather than something to disguise.
In Kintsugi not only is there no attempt to hide the damage, but the repair is literally illuminated... a kind of physical expression of the spirit
With this as the central theme this artwork series of “Kintsugi for the Soul” is dedicated to our human body , our heart and soul , which may face physical and emotional hurt but when brought together and mended is fixed with the shine and shimmer of gold. In our efforts to mend our brave souls as we go about the journey of our lives we are nothing but Kintsugi.
This work in progress series is dedicated to celebrating our human spirit.
This is for each of us as we go about living our lives and facing challenges good and the ugly as they come.
What has that one thing in life that you felt would break you , but did not infact it got you out victorious and stronger, shining like gold? Remeber it ? This one’s for you
