I was never a journaling kind of person. I mostly worked on intuition , then I happened to read The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path To Higher Creativity by American author Julia Cameron last year. In the book Julia talks about the importance of "morning pages" and writing early in the morning as one wakes up. As I did this I grew to enjoy and love writing journal entries. Enter year 2020 and with the pandemic it now has become a daily ritual. My safe place to write about stories of the day, my little goals, the wins, paint and scribble things I see in my dreams.
As Van Gogh Says " I paint in my dreams and then paint my dreams"
So how does journaling help me -
Our typical days are filled with information overload ..I find journaling gets all the information I need in perspective to me. could be a good recipe, a quote or a habit
Understanding goals , clarity of purpose , work areas … the written word etches so much better
Record keeping .. important days events , festivals .. oh all these beautiful festivities I would forget if I had not doodled them in.
I started intentionally only this year... I fill it with streams of thought and ideas… they are beautiful and personal
Sharing a page from my October month .. I am so awaiting the beautiful Durga festival, will be trying a few landscapes this month … do you journal? Or do you want to start what do you think ?
